Pop Up Shower
I rain
down, pelting
the earth,
unpredictable
polishing jagged
stones
to a nice rounded
edge, I have
purpose
even in my tumbling
and you think
damn
I just washed
the car.
R
he traveled
far
and then fell
down
mere inches
from his destination
retiring his voice
along with all
the rest, laying
to bed the rawhide
self
he broadcast,
feet facing
the sun.
Green Ink
my name
spelled
in green ink
a childhood
binder
marrying me
away to future
suitors
turn the page
you will see
my lab notes
the first hints
of a free mind.
Ocean
deep into
the azure
find the peace
of my soul
do not
threaten
do not
hassle
or warn
I am the
spiny sea
creature
let the waves
wash over.
Crying Shame
the child
with red
burned hand
cries
from the oven
like you
touching me
after a stern
message
not to
like you not
knowing how
to be a man
